New Delhi : The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given the green light to three new metro corridors under Delhi Metro’s Phase V(A) expansion plan. Together spanning 16.076 km, these routes are expected to significantly strengthen connectivity across the national capital.
Approved Corridors
- R.K. Ashram Marg – Indraprastha (9.913 km)
- Aerocity – IGD Airport Terminal 1 (2.263 km)
- Tughlakabad – Kalindi Kunj (3.9 km)
The estimated project cost stands at ₹12,014.91 crore, with funding support from the Government of India, the Delhi Government, and international agencies.

Central Vista Connectivity
One of the highlights of this expansion is the Central Vista corridor, which will directly link Kartavya Bhawans to the metro network. This is expected to benefit nearly 60,000 office-goers and 2 lakh visitors daily, offering doorstep access while reducing reliance on fossil fuels and cutting vehicular pollution.
