Tamil Nadu, India :
In Tamil Nadu, archaeologists reported the discovery of a cache of ancient punch‑marked coins near a historic temple complex, a find that illuminates trade and ritual practices from earlier eras and will interest historians and local museums.

The coins, recovered during a routine excavation, are being assessed for their age and provenance, and conservation teams are preparing the items for study and display. Local scholars say the find could offer new insights into regional economic networks, temple patronage and material culture from the period under examination
