Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya, marking a historic and spiritually significant occasion for the nation.
Key Highlights of the Visit
- Morning Schedule (10 AM): The Prime Minister will begin his visit at the Saptmandir, which houses shrines dedicated to Maharshi Vashishtha, Maharshi Vishwamitra, Maharshi Agastya, Maharshi Valmiki, Devi Ahilya, Nishadraj Guha, and Mata Shabari. He will then proceed to the Sheshavtar Mandir.
- Midday Schedule (11 AM): The Prime Minister is expected to visit the Mata Annapurna Mandir, followed by Darshan and Pooja at the Ram Darbar Garbh Grah and Ram Lalla Garbha Grah.
- Flag Hoisting (12 Noon): A ceremonial saffron flag will be hoisted atop the Shikhar of the temple. The flag, triangular in shape and measuring ten feet by twenty feet, features a radiant Sun, the sacred symbol ‘Om,’ and the Kovidara tree. It represents the brilliance and valour of Bhagwan Shri Ram and the ideals of Ram Rajya.
Spiritual and Cultural Significance
The event coincides with the Vivah Panchami of Shri Ram and Maa Sita, observed during the auspicious Abhijit Muhurat in the month of Margashirsha. The day also holds importance as the martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Sikh Guru, who meditated in Ayodhya for 48 hours in the 17th century.
Architectural Highlights
- The saffron flag will rise over a Shikhar built in the Nagara style of North Indian temple architecture.
- Surrounding the temple is an 800-metre Parkota, designed in the South Indian tradition, showcasing architectural diversity.
- The temple complex features 87 stone-carved episodes from the Valmiki Ramayana on its outer walls and 79 bronze-cast depictions of Indian culture along the enclosure, offering visitors a rich cultural and educational experience.
