New Delhi : Indian Railways has announced the operation of 89 special train services, accounting for over 100 trips, across multiple zones over the next three days starting today. The initiative comes in response to heavy passenger demand caused by widespread flight cancellations and the seasonal winter rush, ensuring smoother connectivity between major cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Howrah, Hyderabad and others.
Central Railway
To meet rising demand, Central Railway will run 14 special services. Key trains include:
- Pune–Bengaluru (Dec 6–7)
- Pune–Hazrat Nizamuddin (Dec 7 & 9)
- LTT–Madgaon (Dec 7–8)
- CSMT–Hazrat Nizamuddin (Dec 6–7)
- LTT–Lucknow (Dec 6–7)
- Nagpur–CSMT (Dec 6–7)
- Gorakhpur–LTT (Dec 7 & 9)
- Bilaspur–LTT (Dec 10 & 12)
South Eastern Railway
Special services include:
- Santragachi–Yelahanka (Dec 7 & 9)
- Howrah–CSMT (Dec 6 & 8)
- Cherlapalli–Shalimar (Dec 6 & 8)
South Central Railway
On 6 December, three trains departed:
- Cherlapalli–Shalimar
- Secunderabad–Chennai Egmore
- Hyderabad–Mumbai LTT
Eastern Railway
Services include:
- Howrah–New Delhi (Dec 6 & 8)
- Sealdah–LTT (Dec 6 & 9)
Western Railway
Seven special trains will operate, including:
- Mumbai Central–Bhiwani Superfast (bi‑weekly, Dec 9–31, 14 trips)
- Mumbai Central–Shakur Basti Superfast (daily except Tue/Fri, Dec 8–30, 32 trips)
- Bandra Terminus–Durgapura Superfast (Dec 7–8)
Gorakhpur Services
