Modi’s Three-Nation Visit to Boost India’s Global South and Middle East Relations

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a three‑nation tour from December 15–18, 2025, covering Jordan, Ethiopia, and Oman.

Jordan (December 15–16)
At the invitation of King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, Prime Minister Modi will visit Jordan to mark 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The leaders are expected to review the full spectrum of India–Jordan ties and discuss regional developments. The visit aims to deepen bilateral cooperation, explore new opportunities for growth, and reaffirm both nations’ commitment to peace, prosperity, and stability in the region.

Ethiopia (December 16–17)
In the second leg of the trip, Prime Minister Modi will travel to Ethiopia at the invitation of Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali. This will be Modi’s first official visit to the country. The two leaders will hold wide‑ranging talks on strengthening India–Ethiopia relations. As partners in the Global South, the visit underscores their shared vision of advancing friendship and cooperation across multiple sectors.

Oman (December 17–18)
The final stop will be Oman, where Prime Minister Modi will meet Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. This marks Modi’s second visit to the Sultanate and coincides with the 70th anniversary of India–Oman diplomatic relations. Discussions will cover trade, investment, energy, defence, technology, agriculture, and cultural exchanges. The visit also follows Sultan Haitham’s State visit to India in 2023, highlighting the enduring strategic partnership between the two nations.
