India and Pakistan Drawn in Same Group for T20 World Cup 2026

Cricket fans are set for another high‑voltage clash as India and Pakistan have been placed in the same group for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled from February 7 to March 8. The tournament will be co‑hosted by India and Sri Lanka, with matches spread across major venues in both countries.

Group Composition
According to reports, the ICC has finalized four groups of five teams each, with the top two from every group advancing to the Super Eight, followed by semifinals and the final.

  • India’s Group: India (ranked No.1 in T20Is), Pakistan, Netherlands, Namibia, USA
  • India’s fixtures: vs USA, vs Namibia, vs Pakistan (Colombo), vs Netherlands
  • India and Pakistan are the only Test‑playing nations in this pool, making them strong contenders to progress.

While the group looks favorable for both sides, history offers a reminder—Pakistan were stunned by the USA in the 2024 T20 World Cup, proving that surprises are always possible.

Other Groups

  • Sri Lanka’s Group: Sri Lanka, Australia, Zimbabwe, Ireland, Oman — a tough draw with four full‑member teams.
  • England’s Group: England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Nepal, Italy.
  • South Africa’s Group: South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan, UAE, Canada.

Venues and Knockout Stages

  • India’s matches: Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi, Ahmedabad.
  • Sri Lanka’s matches: Colombo, Kandy.
  • Final: Scheduled for Ahmedabad, but if Pakistan qualify, Colombo will host one semifinal and the final.
  • Mumbai and Kolkata are in contention for the other semifinal.
  • The ICC is expected to officially unveil the draw at an event in Mumbai on November 25.
