Patna, Bihar :
The 2025 Bihar Assembly elections concluded with a resounding victory for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The alliance secured 198 out of 243 seats, marking one of its strongest performances in the state’s political history.

- BJP emerged as the largest party with 89 seats, while JD(U) followed with 85 seats, reaffirming Nitish Kumar’s influence in Bihar politics.
- The Mahagathbandhan, comprising RJD, Congress, and other allies, managed only 35 seats, with RJD winning 25 and Congress 6.
- Voter turnout was robust, crossing 60%, reflecting high public engagement across both urban and rural constituencies.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the outcome as a “vote for development and stability,” while Nitish Kumar thanked voters for their continued trust. Analysts suggest the NDA’s focus on infrastructure, welfare schemes, and law-and-order resonated with voters, especially in semi-urban and rural belts.
The elections were held in two phases on November 6 and 11, with tight security and high-tech monitoring across polling stations.
