India to Host Asia Pacific Aircraft Accident Investigation Meet for the First Time

Over 90 international experts to gather in New Delhi for a four-day summit and workshop on aviation safety and investigation practices.

New Delhi : India is set to host the prestigious Asia Pacific Accident Investigation Group (APAC-AIG) meeting and workshop for the first time, marking a significant milestone in its aviation safety leadership. Organized by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the event will take place from October 28 to 31, 2025, in New Delhi.

Union Minister of Civil Aviation Shri Rammohan Naidu will inaugurate the four-day gathering, which is expected to bring together around 90 delegates from aircraft accident investigation authorities across the Asia Pacific region, along with representatives from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

The APAC-AIG meeting is an annual forum where ICAO member states collaborate to enhance aviation safety standards. Traditionally hosted by different member countries, this year’s edition in India will focus on strengthening regional cooperation, sharing investigative expertise, and improving response capabilities for aviation incidents.

The first two days (October 28–29) will feature a technical workshop led by officials from AAIB and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), alongside international experts. Topics will include best practices in accident investigation, data analysis, and reporting protocols.

On October 30 and 31, formal discussions will be held among ICAO member state representatives and AAIB officials to review regional progress and explore new strategies for enhancing investigative coordination across borders.
